With over 70 years of continuous development, Quadtrac series tractors have helped farmers achieve greater productivity in demanding conditions. As part of a strong heritage, Case IH pioneered the continuously variable transmission for high-powered articulated tractors (CVXDrive) on four tracks. Today, these achievements have been complemented by the most comfortable and connected cab, which benefits from the latest telematics applications - AFS CONNECT.
For many years over the past 70 years, Case IH has had in its portfolio a model of "the world's most powerful series-production tractor," consistently, ever since Douglass Steiger invented the first articulated tractor. Over the last 30 years, Case IH has rebuilt the Steiger articulated tractor, improving its equipment with a unique concept invented by this manufacturer, with 4 independent triangular tracks, which it called Quadtrac. For the first 20 years since then, Case IH held the patent for this 4-track articulated tractor concept. Quadtrac technology has been refined and improved several times since then and continues to be improved today.
Quadtrac has a track system that is unique on the market, with a reinforced chassis on four independent triangular tracks with vertical and longitudinal oscillations, guide rollers that provide clearance and protection for the tracks, and hydraulic suspension on the intermediate rollers, all with a Clear-View maintenance device. The four tracks ensure a constant ground contact area of approximately 6.2 m². Based on a total weight of 25 tons, the tractor exerts a ground pressure of 0.5 kg/cm².
At the same time, Quadtrac tractors effectively mold themselves to the terrain, depending on the firmness of the ground. This is also an advantage in soft, marshy soil with large areas of standing water. It has been tested and used in floods, in arctic areas, in snow and on frozen surfaces, at temperatures below -50 °C, in the desert, in wars and theaters of operations, in hostile conditions. It can run on paved surfaces with the same minimal track wear at speeds over 50 km/h and can tow very large industrial vehicles and machinery.
With a maximum power of 853 hp, the new Quadtrac 785 AFS Connect is the most powerful tractor ever produced by Case IH. It is powered by an industry innovation, the new FPT Cursor 16L TST engine. The Quadtrac 715 model won the "Tractor of the Year 2025" award in the HighPower category for models over 300 hp at the EIMA 2024 international agricultural machinery exhibition in Bologna, Italy.
With more power, efficiency, and comfort, plus advanced precision technology built in, farmers can maximize production potential and return on investment while reducing fuel consumption, working hours, and stress.
